Castelo de Sortelha

This small balcony above the entrance to the old fortress was not for show. Those round holes in the floor allowed defender to shoot directly down on anyone attempting to break open the door. They also would have kept piles of large rocks at hand and -- of course -- large pots of boiling oil.
