Aqueduto das Águas Livres, seus aferentes e correlacionados (concelho de Odivelas: freguesia de Caneças)

Standing on Rua das Amoreiras, a short walk up from Largo Rato, looking at the old Aquaducto das Águas Livres aqueduct. The green park behind the wall is the Jardim das Amoreiras garden.The aqueduct was an amazing feat of engineering, stretching 68 km, partly underground, which took 20 years to build and was completed in 1729. It even withstood the 1755 earthquake.
