English:Now a calm and discreet beach, seen here from the “Parque de Estacionamento”, Estrada do Paimogo, at the foot of the 17th c. fort ("Forte de Nossa Senhora dos Anjos de Paimogo").In the early days of the Peninsular War,Gen. Robert Anstruther (1768-1809)landed his brigade here, atPaimogoBay (Paymayo or Pai-Mogo in 19th c. literature), in the evening of August 19th, 1808.Simultaneously,Lt.-Gen.
